Olney's long range campus planning began in 2001. With the help of architect Steve Avdakov, the school's constituencies were consulted and building uses mapped. Evaluations were made of how well existing facilities serve current needs. A recurring concern about vehicular traffic patterns was voiced and a creative solution crafted. Landscape architect, Gabe Hays, joined the team, in 2007 to help guide the site planning. The location of the new Activity Center / Gym will make use of the scenic view to Livezey Lake and geo-thermal potential from that lake, good solar orientation, and proximity to current campus buildings. Working closely with the buildings committee and members of the school community, Constantine Kayafas Architects, of Wheeling, WV have incorporated many "green" features. The Long Range Vision provides direction for the campus, to be phased in over time, and enhance Olney's future.
